I’m going through a season of change and rebuilding, which for a girl like me, is not my favorite thing in the world. Business, health, life – it’s a lot to try to balance!
Maybe you’re in a season of rebuilding too and since this is a health blog, I want to share some ways that I’m getting back on track and moving forward.
In health:
- Fitness is a constant for me. I never “fell off the wagon” in that area. Plus, when you teach fitness classes, that helps! But it’s important for me to lean into what I love and what challenges me. So I’m choosing to do more of that: Lifting 4-5 days per week.
- I believe that supplements help in all areas of life. Yes, obviously it helps with overall wellness, but it also helps create a routine. I started using a pre-made vitamin pack because I find it to be easier to stay consistent when it’s already done for me.
- When I think back to the healthiest time of my life, I was drinking Shakeology for breakfast every day. I thought, “Well I’ll try a cheaper powder,” and tried a few others. I can honestly say that I felt significantly better on Shakeology, both in my energy levels and controlled sugar cravings. So I’m back to making my shakes each morning and I’m so happy I did. It really starts my day on a high note.
In my mental health/daily life:
- I’m trying to be done with work each day between 2-3pm because I mentally work best earlier in the day.
- I recently started using a neck stretching pillow (device?) which has surprisingly become part of a mental health routine. You have to lay there for 10 minutes basically just staring at the ceiling. It’s embarrassing how hard that is for me to just stay still, but I’ve been using that time to listen to my Bible reading plan and just pray.
- Saunas, cold plunge, massage, chiropractic…I’ve incorporated these more often into my life as a form of self-care and mental health too.
- Clutter…ugh, I hate it! There is so much research that shows a cluttered home also clutters your mind. So we are being more diligent about making donation bags and getting junk out of our home.
Last but not least, I’m leaning into the hard things that I don’t want to do. I’m getting outside of my comfort zone because I know it will help me grow into the person I want to be. Let me know if this helps you! Would love to connect. 🙂
